I'm the maker behind by Adunni; here's my story

Handmade, one bag at a time, named after someone who mattered.

by Adunni started in 2025 as a passion project — just me, a needle, and a LOT of beads.

The name comes from my Grandmother, Adunni Kasim. She had an incredible handbag collection and lived by the idea of looking and feeling her best, no matter the occasion, she would dress up just to sit downstairs and read the newspaper. by Adunni was born out of grief and a trying time, her name in Yoruba means 'joy', and that's what I wanted to embody during such a terrible time.

I wanted that same feeling for whoever carries a by Adunni bag — something that makes you stand a little taller when you put it on, something that gives you confidence, something that stands out in your wardrobe. Something that brings you joy.

Every bag is completely handmade, with beads sourced from Lagos, Nigeria — my Grandmother's home. Some pieces take over 6 hours and more than 500 individual beads to finish. That's on purpose. This was never meant to be fast fashion.

Quality over quantity. Slow, intentional design. No two by Adunni bags will ever be exactly the same — and I think that's the whole point. When you choose one, you're not just picking a colour, you're contributing to a legacy that started with one woman's handbag collection and is still going.
